I went to pick my car up from the workshop yesterday, the man was on the telephone, I overheard him say: “I’ll take that two-week cruise as I’m about to get some dough,” and then he saw me standing there and said: “I have to go!” He handed me my keys and said: “Your car’s as good as new, it’s lucky that you came in now, before that motor blew, the pistons were all blistered and the valve stems shot to hell, the manifold was old with holes, and ugly plugs as well! “The oil had boiled because it was a lump up in the pump, loose rings had worn the kingpins down and dumped them in the sump, the crankshaft and the petrol tank too rusted to repair, and damn it if the camshaft wasn’t jammed by bearing wear! “Your carby’s far beyond recall, the jets too wet and thin, the diff was iffy, so I fitted pin replacements in, the CV joints were pointy and your front end bent and old, it’s lucky that I stock your make of intake manifold! “I couldn’t take the risk, your disc pads had to be replaced, transmission bolts were faulty and the fluid thick as paste, then third gear nearly broke, then first, and then I lost reverse, I put a whole new gearbox in, as second gear was worse! “Your steering wheel appeared to be in need of special care, the seat belts felt all shot, I got a neat new front-seat pair, the clutch was much the same and all the headlights seemed quite crook, I think the blinkers might be too, but didn’t dare to look! “The pinion rack lacked tension and its screws were all bad news, my alternator tester says that yours had blown a fuse, the bonnet lock was shocking and the doors were poorly done, I changed the hinges, handles too, they’re just like new, old son. “I sprayed the radiator out, and filled the anti-freeze, adjusted all the air-con ports to twenty-three degrees, I nuked the duco with some special crack-resistant wax, you owe me seven thousand bucks, including federal tax!” Considering I’d booked it in to fit a speakerphone, I figured this excessive, but I didn’t like to moan, I wrote a check and drove home feeling like a stupid jerk, the car was running smoothly but the cellphone didn’t work!

The girls only change the silver on this one

This paint was given to the girls by Raudi we thank him for this.

The Car: A850 Audi TT Volkswagen Audi Group Tuned

Sales Thread: http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/thread/2591128.aspx

First Impressions: At the first view I was unimpressed with the paint, but the more I see it the more I've grown to like the Audis fairly simple design. It's quite an easy and forgiving car to drive that makes a little tyre noise when you push in the turns but holds better than its squeals suggest.

On The Tracks: Maple Valley Reverse had me spend 2 laps getting acquainted with the car, and forcing myself to push harder and ignore the protesting tyres which weren't letting go of their grip. A 1:30.081 laptime had some in reserve and the last lap had splits for a drop into the 1:29's.

Road Atlanta forced the Audi to show us its speed, and 153 mph was a little better than some grip tunes will acheive on the straight. A 1:23.031 left it just shy of the 1:22.xxx I would have liked to see for an A class grip tune but so close that it's going to make it with some more laps under our belts.

Nissan Speedway asks for every bit of a cars speed to be shown, the Audi gave its all for 157mph and 55.410 laptime.

Suzuka West had me struggling a little to see the times I would expect from the Audi as a grippy A class car. A 1:18.404 is a little off the pace and I couldn't find the extra time in 6 laps to drop it into the 1:17's although I do think it can get there.

Mugello Short the final track in Pro career races and I spent half the laps in the high 57's looking for the sweet spots for the Audi to gain some time. After all 7 laps the best time was a 57.088 just outside the 56's I wanted to see.

The Verdict: A very nice looking paintjob which really did grow on me, going from "ho hum" to "actually I like it". I don't think I'm ever going to get to "really love it" but my taste isn't the same as everyone else and some people are going to instantly love it. I was frustrated with the times I ran in the Audi TT, I have the feeling that the weakest part of the chain was me the driver. Every race saw poor laps to start and then improving to be just off the laptimes I'd usually see from a car in its class by the end. Even with the times posted it would still make a good lobby car, not a hotlapper, with the times I set but I can feel that it has more potential with time spent getting to know it better.

when this car was first unleashed from my garage! In only a few laps I had bettered my Mugen Integra PB around Sebring Club. And got so close to some other PBs that I'm confident with a few more laps, this car will be setting my leaderboard on fire!
It's very grippy, has decent speed and most importantly, it handles so well!

some laptimes so far: Sebring Club 1:05.450

Road Atlanta short 55.883

Silverstone National 57.253

Silverstone International 1:23.814

Motegi East 1:26.302

A great car that is very competitive.

Picked up one of the TT's last night. Great paint and fantastic tune, so easy to drive at the limit. Very accurate turn in with loads of grip, nicely done.
